Get to know Alexa Herrendorf
Director of Programs, Israel

Alexa brings more than 15 years of professional experience as a certified veterinary technician and marine mammal biologist. Following the events of October 7, 2023, she redirected her professional focus toward creating meaningful, education-driven impact in Israel—guided by a deep belief in historical understanding, informed dialogue, and the power of listening to lived experiences.

Through multiple immersive visits to Israel, Alexa has engaged directly with government and military officials, medical professionals, activists, soldiers, and families. These firsthand experiences have given her a nuanced understanding of Israel’s complex realities and strengthened her commitment to amplifying authentic voices often missing from broader conversations.

In her work with Israeli-focused foundations, Alexa identified a critical need to intentionally engage and empower the next generation. This mission now sits at the core of her work with HFF, where she is focused on developing programs that educate, build bridges across communities, and foster thoughtful, informed global leadership.
